Three days before Christmas, two female detectives become involved in the kidnapping of Regan's father and his driver. The kidnap victims fear that the kidnappers' nervousness and lack of professionalism will lead to tragedy.

This novel is written by mother and daughter; they commented that they found it fun to work together and that they were so in tune that they came up with the same words. The style is simple, with many touches of humor, interesting, a very quick read. It has become very popular with American teenagers - from the age of 12. It is entertaining. The plot is well laid out, the main characters are likeable, it has family values, the thriller settings are positive, and it is very well written.
