In preparation for the Jubilee of the Year 2000.

The Apostolic Letter Tertio Millennio Adveniente was promulgated by Saint John Paul II on November 10, 1994, with the purpose of spiritually preparing the Church for the arrival of the Great Jubilee of the Year 2000. In this document, the Pope invites the faithful to reflect on the history of salvation and to renew their commitment to Christ on the eve of the third millennium of Christianity.

Tertio Millennio Adveniente is an invitation to conversion and hope, calling Christians to renew their faith in Christ and to live the Jubilee as a time of grace. The document left a lasting impact on the Church, influencing the celebration of the Great Jubilee of 2000 and the path of the new evangelization promoted by Saint John Paul II.
