Guardini expresses here his personal experience on prayer, its place in the Christian life, and explains the various forms of prayer: vocal, mental, liturgical, to the saints, to Mary, the place of the Holy Trinity, amidst difficulties. He encourages the reader to pray always, and to persevere in it.
